Basic information about the department:

Production engineering is a broad technical-technological area, which essentially symbolizes the mechanical engineering profession. Production engineering is a broad technical-technological area that essentially symbolizes the mechanical engineering profession. It generally includes knowledge from various scientific disciplines, which enable the transformation of the workpiece (material) into the final product of a certain use value. Highly qualified engineers for work in various and changing industrial environments are educated at the module for production engineering. After graduation, these engineers are able to upgrade and adapt their knowledge in accordance with the requirements of the global market.

The development of production engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering East Sarajevo took place in parallel with the development of the Faculty. Namely, the first students who enrolled in the Faculty of mechanical engineering in academic 1994/95 year, studied according to the study programme of the Department of production, module in Production technique. Later, curricula were innovated in accordance with the principles of the Bologna declaration. However, a significant number of subjects that have scientifically and professionally gravitated to the Department of production engineering have always found their place in study programs. By changing to the study program Mechanical Engineering with modules for the academic 2013/14 year, production engineering received new impulses of development, which are mostly manifested in the equipment of existing, but also the formation of new laboratories. Today, production engineering is one of the pillars of the development of the Faculty of mechanical engineering East Sarajevo.
